REPORT ON CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
(for the year ended 31 December 2008)

SCIB’s CSR mission statement is to operate in a way that actively recognizes the central role that business plays in the structure of society to improve the quality of life of a broad community. SCIB’s overall practice of CSR takes on four main focal areas namely the workplace, the community, the market place and the environment.

The Workplace
We acknowledge that employees are the key to successful business operations and we value and care for all aspects of their wellbeing.

The Community
We believe that Companies live within the community and they are inter- dependent of one another.

The Environment
We also recognize the importance of environment in which we operate in and place our best effort to become an environmental responsible corporate citizen.

The Market Place
We continuously try to add value to our stakeholders by way of engaging in ethical procurement procedures, enhancing good management practices, internal control systems, promoting information sharing and transparency, emphasizing on corporate accountability, corporate governance, reputation, business trust and integrity.
